Spiti Valley Jeep Safari 2021
Itinerary
Day 1 - Drive from Manali – Rohtang Pass – Kunzum La – Losar – Kaza. Overnight in a Kaza Hotel
On the first day of your Spiti valley jeep safari, you will begin the tour by hitting the road from Manali.
You will pass through the popular adventure-heaven Rohtang Pass.
And, will be driving into the desolate and stunning brown-badland landscape and approach Chattru and Batal.
At 14,931 feet, we catch our first chill at the august Kunzum Pass and then descend into Losar Village, the first in Spiti valley.
Enjoy a warm cup of tea, and continue driving through the stunning landscapes.
You will reach Kaza where you will spend the night at a comfortable hotel.
Day 2 - Drive from Kaza – Langza – Hikkim – Komik – Ki Monastery – Kibber – Gette – Kaza. Overnight in a Kaza hotel
On the second day of the Spiti valley jeep safari, you will drive to some of the highest inhabited regions of the world.
You will reach the highest village in Asia, Komik and witness its beauty.
Later, you will drive to Hikkim where you will visit the world’s highest post office.
You can walk into the village and visit the ancient Lang (Temple) which is estimated to be around 1000 years old.
You will drive back down to Kaza for lunch.
After enjoying the lunch you will visit Key Monastery, this monastery is famous as a prominent center of learning as well as a refuge for Tibetans.
Then You will move farther up the valley to the picturesque village of Kibber.
After this, you will drive higher up to the secluded village of Gette where you can absorb stunning aerial views of Kaza and tie a prayer flag.
You will drive back to Kaza in the evening and spend the night in a comfortable and warm Kaza hotel.
Day 3 - Drive from Kaza to Pin Valley – Kungri – Mudh – Kaza. Overnight in a Kaza Hotel
On the third day of your Spiti valley jeep safari, you will drive towards the beautiful Pin Valley.
You will first visit the Kungri Monastery and then the beautiful hamlet of Mudh – the last motorable village of the Pin Valley.
You will drive back to Kaza in the evening and spend the night in a comfortable and warm Kaza hotel.
Day 4 - Drive from Kaza to Tabo – Dhankar – Dhankar Lake Trek – Lhalung. Overnight in a Lhalung Homestay
Wake up and enjoy the delicious breakfast.
Today you will continue your Spiti Valley tour and drive towards the only other town of Spiti Valley – Tabo.
Also known as the ‘Ajanta of the Himalayas’, Tabo houses the 1020-year-old Tabo Monastery – which is a UNESCO world heritage site and is famous for its ancient paintings that depict the life of the Buddha.
After spending a couple of hours at Tabo, You drive towards Dhankar and will also visit Dhankar lake.
Later, you take a short drive to Lhalung – another beautiful high altitude Spiti valley village.
You spend the night at an authentic local homestay with a local family, listening to life tales at above 12,000 feet.
Day 5 - Drive from Lhalung to Losar – Kunzum La – Chandratal Lake. Overnight in Camps near Chandratal Lake
On the fifth day, you commence your journey back home and trace your steps back on the Kaza – Manali road.
You will take one last stop at another Spitian wonder – Chandratal Lake.
After capturing the colours of the beautiful Chandratal Lake, you will drive to your camping site where a hot supper under the gaze of a million stars and the Milky Way awaits you.
Day 6 - Drive from Chandratal Lake to Rohtang Pass – Manali
With visuals of the stunning Chandratal Lake captured in minds and cameras, you will continue tracing your steps back, driving on the Kaza – Manali road.
After reaching Manali bid goodbye to the drivers and later, you can choose to explore Manali’s markets in the evening if you are up for it or you can rest in the comforts of your Manali hotel.
Day 7 - Check Out of Manali
On the last day of Spiti Valley jeep safari, you will check out from Manali at 12 noon / Take an overnight bus to New Delhi or if you wish the operators can help you arrange a private taxi from Manali to Chandigarh / New Delhi.
